Filler is one of our favorite treatments here at The Things We Do! It’s a great option for patients looking to add volume and dimension to their face. When our providers work their magic, they can use it to inject the lips, cheeks, chin, and under eyes to enhance a patient’s facial structure for a more balanced and refreshed look.

At The Things We Do, they offer a variety of filler products containing synthetic hyaluronic acid, otherwise known as HA. HA is a naturally occurring substance within our bodies that allows our tissue to retain water and stay hydrated. As we age, our bodies slowly produce less hyaluronic acid, leading to volume loss. When this becomes apparent, our providers use filler to address these areas of volume depletion to build structural support and dimension.

After receiving filler treatment, it’s important to keep in mind that although results will show immediately, the full finish will appear within two weeks. Since our bodies will process this product in their own unique way, patients may experience some bruising and swelling for the

first few days, which is completely normal. In the meantime, there are things we can do to help the healing process such as using arnica and eating pineapple! Pineapple contains an enzyme called Bromelain, an anti-inflammatory that can help reduce bruising and swelling.

Like most great things in life, it’s not permanent. Filler can last from 6 months to 2 years depending on how fast your body metabolizes the product. If the filler is placed where we experience more muscle movement, it will metabolize sooner than others. If you’re looking to dissolve some existing filler before it metabolizes naturally, we’ve got you covered! The Things We Do offers dissolving treatments as well.
